Head all warnings and cautions in your instruction manual. Following the directions in your instruction manual, disconnect your fountain from the electric supply, remove from your pond, clean outside housing of your pump and lights (do this while the pump is still wet, it’s easier to clean), inspect pump and power cord for any damage, and store upright in a climate controlled area for the winter. While the pump is being stored for the winter, remove the intake strainer from the bottom of the pump and manually turn the impeller a few times once a month. This will help keep the internal seals lubricated, and ensure that your fountain is ready to be reinstalled in the spring.
